Happy New Year everybody, thanks for stopping by...

Sorry I've been slow to update the website, but I just added pics/links on the discography page for Terri Clark's "Roots and Wings" and my good friend Stephen Simmons' newest record "The Big Show".

I did some really fun tracking with Taylor Swift just before the Christmas break--and I added a pic of my recording rig at the session on the photos page....I also snuck in one last session before the end of the year with songwriter Anderson East.

Only a few new items on the gear front.  I recently acquired a New Standard Cleveland upright bass that I've been enjoying--it's a great instrument...and through the good people at Xotic I picked up a few nice pedals, the Bass RC Booster and BB Preamp along with the (EWS) BMC Bass Mid Control...

I played bass on Taylor Swift's most recent single "Sparks Fly" from the "Speak Now" record, check it out....

Been busy working on several recording projects, including a great record with Norwegian singer/songwriter Robert Smith-Hald.  Some fun live shows too with Trent Dabbs and Amy Stroup's new band Sugar & the Hilows, and couple gigs with Randy Houser.

I played on Shania Twain's new single "Today Is Your Day"--check it out on iTunes.  More news to come....

Taylor Swift's new album "Speak Now" was recently released.  I played bass on three tracks: "Sparks Fly", "Enchanted", and "Last Kiss".  It's a fantastic record top to bottom--check it out....

Last week was a good one--a couple highlights:

3 great days of tracking with Japanese songwriter/pianist Angela Aki.  Janis Ian was producing and playing guitar (and some keys).  Fantastic band along with Angela and Janis---Chris Leuzinger, Eddie Bayers, and Eric Darken.....

On Saturday a CD release party for my good friend Melissa Mathes and her new record "Play Along" .  I'm really proud of this record and hope you'll check it out.  A tune from the record is up on my music page--or hit the link to check it out on iTunes.

Yesterday was a good one: tracking with Katie Armiger and a gig at night with The Legendary Walrus.....

Digging in on U2's "The Joshua Tree" today--I'll be performing that record in it's entirety, along with several other U2 hits, with The Long Players June 4th @ The Cannery....

Had a really busy week including a great day and a half of tracking with singer/songwriter Sammy Barrett--looking forward to hearing it when it's done.

I lost a bunch of instruments and gear in the flood a few weeks ago. Here's a quick pic of my old Jerry Jones bass all warped and destroyed....

...and one more of the group--there were no survivors...

I'm very pleased to now be working with Mesa amps.  I'm using a Walkabout Scout 12 combo and a Walkabout head with 1x15, 2x12, and 2x15 Vintage Powerhouse cabs.  Really great stuff....go to my links page a click on the Mesa logo to check out their site.

I've been enjoying my new USA Lakland Glaub:

I've been messing with Tech 21 VT Bass and EHX Bass Big Muff Pi pedals--both sound killer.  I'll be working them into the mix a lot more....I've been hunting around for a few more cool pedals too....

Had a lot of fun tracking a song with The Invite last week.  I heard a mix the other night and it sounded fantastic...

Taylor Swift's "Fearless" won several Grammys last month including "Album of Year" and "Best Country Album"!!  Congrats again to Taylor, Nathan, Nick, Chad, Justin and all of my friends who worked on the record.  The title track is currently the fifth single, and her song "Today Was a Fairytale" (from the "Valentine's Day" soundtrack) has hit the charts as well...

I played on Jewel's new single "Stay Here Forever", also from the "Valentine's Day" soundtrack.  It was great to work with her...

I've recently tracked records with Patrick Sweany and JD Simo at the Fry Pharmacy, an all analog studio in Old Hickory, TN.  Both were really fun to work on and I'm looking forward to hearing them finished...

There are some good shows coming up in March--Luke Dick, Lauren Lucas, and Will Kimbrough's CD release party.  I'll update as they approach...
